I am a freelance editor and proofreader, handling both fiction and nonfiction, corporate publications, essays, and articles. I am currently the copy editor for Addison Magazine and have edited pre-submission articles for publication in the Huffington Post and Fox News Online.
If you need a developmental edit, a line edit, or a proofread (or all 3!), you've come to the right place. With a quick visit to the Portfolio page on my website, you'll find a long list of happy clients. Click on their photos to read their testimonials and learn more about their writing.
I have a bachelor's in English Literature and spent 29 years as a classroom teacher. I have an eagle eye for spotting errors and will do so without changing your voice. I'm a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and the American Copy Editors Society (ACES). The EFA has selected two of my booklets for publication, both of which guide freelance editors to improve their marketability and client base.
In order to receive a fair quote for my services, writers are asked to submit a 750-1000 word sample of the work to be edited. This can be done via the submission tab on my website. I will edit the sample at no charge, giving the writer the opportunity to see what my work looks like and providing me the chance to gauge the writer's skill level.
I charge by the hour, following the rates set forth by the EFA. See my website for specifics. I book edits up to one year in advance, so please plan ahead.
